About
One app for everything happening in Worcester: local news, weather, sports, events, transit, and more. Built by a neighbor, powered entirely by public data. No ads, no tracking, no subscriptions. Always free.
WooPulse is a comprehensive dashboard for Worcester, Massachusetts. Grab a coffee and check in on the local forecast, whether the Framingham/Worcester Line is running on time, last night's WooSox scores, tonight's show at the DCU Center, what's on the City Council agenda, and whether there's a parking ban. No ads trying to pull your attention away — just the info you need.
I was born and raised in Worcester. After about a decade away — Penn State, a stretch on national-security contracts in DC, and a brief detour trying my hand at acting in Hollywood — I came home. I've spent the last decade-plus building software, and WooPulse is where those two threads meet.
I built it because I wanted all of Worcester's local information and history at my fingertips in one app — and I knew I could make it. It's become a real passion project: a way to put my knowledge, skills, and curiosity to work for my fellow Worcester residents.
I also hope it inspires. As I launch a platform to help anyone bring their own ideas to life, I want WooPulse to stand as proof of what one person, building in the open, can make for the place they love.

This is also an argument: that useful software can be free, ad-free, and respectful of your privacy and your data — software that evolves to serve the people who use it, not venture capitalists and shareholders.
Transparency is the whole point. Here's every source WooPulse pulls from, what it costs, and its terms — if it's on the screen, this is where it came from.

Worcester is the Heart of the Commonwealth, and WooPulse only works because so much of it is already public. Thanks to the City of Worcester, the National Weather Service, the MBTA and WRTA, the WooSox, and the countless open-data contributors who publish their work in the open. This is your data — WooPulse just sets a nicer table for it.
Spotted a bug, want a feature, or know a Worcester data source WooPulse should pull in? I'd genuinely love to hear it — matt@woopulse.live
