About

Worcester, in the open

One app for everything happening in Worcester: local news, weather, sports, events, transit, and more. Built by a neighbor, powered entirely by public data. No ads, no tracking, no subscriptions. Always free.

What is WooPulse?

WooPulse is a comprehensive dashboard for Worcester, Massachusetts. Grab a coffee and check in on the local forecast, whether the Framingham/Worcester Line is running on time, last night's WooSox scores, tonight's show at the DCU Center, what's on the City Council agenda, and whether there's a parking ban. No ads trying to pull your attention away — just the info you need.

Why WooPulse?

I was born and raised in Worcester. After about a decade away — Penn State, a stretch on national-security contracts in DC, and a brief detour trying my hand at acting in Hollywood — I came home. I've spent the last decade-plus building software, and WooPulse is where those two threads meet.

I built it because I wanted all of Worcester's local information and history at my fingertips in one app — and I knew I could make it. It's become a real passion project: a way to put my knowledge, skills, and curiosity to work for my fellow Worcester residents.

I also hope it inspires. As I launch a platform to help anyone bring their own ideas to life, I want WooPulse to stand as proof of what one person, building in the open, can make for the place they love.

— Matt

What WooPulse Believes

  • Public data, in public. Every number on the screen comes from an open API or government feed — all listed below. Nothing is scraped without permission.
  • No ads. No tracking. No account. WooPulse doesn't sell anything and never asks who you are. The only analytics are cookieless and anonymous — there's no profile of you, ever.
  • Local-first. Built for Worcester specifically — its microclimates, its teams, its city hall — not a national template with the city name swapped in.
  • Free. For good. A morning glance at your own city shouldn't cost anything.

This is also an argument: that useful software can be free, ad-free, and respectful of your privacy and your data — software that evolves to serve the people who use it, not venture capitalists and shareholders.
